You need to take a long vacation Say you can't bear it any more You're slumming deep below your station You feel the heat coming up through the floor No one is stopping you from leavin' The exit's marked you know your way Your brow's a map your chest a heavin' It's just your fear that's making you stay I didn't take the upper hand You gave it of your own free will Now you can't seem to understand The reason you stay here still Well, it's a beggars can't be choosers situation Isn't it? Isn't it? On the other side the grass is greener But you're not allowed across the fence Over there they're a little meaner Those people have some kinda sense Who caused your latest perturbation? Some one who cause the one before You need some new kind of sensation Well baby there stands the door But, it's a beggars can't be choosers situation Isn't it? Isn't it?

My Rifle 05:55
Said I went to go see the man with my plan Won't you please take me to Afghanistan What I read sounds so sublime I hear the poppies near Kabul this time of year are mighty fine I couldn't take it no more I though I was going to have to eat through the floor Get a job or go to college—no I'm going to war So I shipped out quick and I shipped out green Lowest life form my lt.'d ever seen Slept on watch and they closed the wire Looks like I'm gonna spend the night entire Left out in the cold with my rifle Well the chain of command sure is long The sergeant told the lt. told the colonel I was gone On the loose in Kunduz, I'm a trip And I got my 16 and, like, 18 clips Made my way at night time stood still Right way wrong way bazaar downtown Almond eyes pull me down If looks could kill, hers will Took me home to meet her dad He wasn't someone I wanted to see He's the ace of spades in the colonel's deck Looks like I have to be Left out in the cold with my rifle Left out I'm working on my ends Held back Remembered my weapons Forgot I'm working on my ends Lost track Remembered my weapons Left out in the cold with my rifle He served me tea, received his clan Cousins trying to live as best they can Grow some kush, herd some goats Infidel's up in here so that we can have the vote I heard a buzz far away I wondered is this gonna be my dying day He said, "Son smoke this, it's OK" Woke up in trouble in a pile of rubble Drone boys brought it down Now it's never dull and I'm never bored Round here now they call me "warlord" Left out in the cold with my rifle Left out I'm working on my ends Held back Remembered my weapons Forgot I'm working on my ends Lost track Remembered my weapons Left out in the cold with my rifle Left out I'm working on my ends Held back Discharged my weapon Forgot I'm working on my ends Lost track Discharged my weapon Left out in the cold with my rifle

There's a freak around the corner There's a freak back at the bus There's a freak up on the stage Don't you know the freak is us We could get away We could get away just you and me You drive your car You drive all the way You should play your 8-track deck for me Bootsy, Ultrawave now We'll be free to ride We'll be free to ride to where we'll be You drive your car I'll be by your side Lady, do your gangster lean for me Diamond in the back now I can't seem to find the time To tell you how I feel Light the candles, chill the wine I'll show you that it's real Cruisin' with my lady at the wheel Top down 'cause it's summertime Cruisn' in my lady's Coupe de Ville Diamond in the back it's mine Cruisin' with my lady at the wheel Jam all night the smoke is fine Cruisin' in my lady's Coupe de Ville Lean back low and blow your mind

Mama said daddy's gonna set you on fire Prejudiced man gets a watch and retires Lady down the street said what happened today Knew that daughter was no good anyway And we gotta go home Saw a man hit a man 10 o'clock news Said that man gonna have to pay his dues Lady down the street said to watch her car Her cousin's gonna need a place to park Mama said to go home Mama acted nice when the lady came by Made us wear shoes fed us beans and rice Lady down the street told the lady some things 'Bout how mama walks around naked and sings Mama are you at home? Man at the place had a look on his face Under the covers I'm in inner space Lady down the street has a new boyfriend Ain't seen that family since I don't know when And we gotta go home Back on the street I am feeling afire Cop on the beat he don't see my desire Lady down the street gonna answer her door Knew her big mouth never knew what for Now I feel at home

Collect Call 03:53
Donnie had no shirt on when they sent him away A time I remember like it's yesterday It was his girl in the end who picked up the phone She wasn't really worried that she'd be alone Donnie still denied it when he got sent away A time I remember like it's yesterday It was a hot one, he was a cold one A time I remember like it's yesterday Out of the blue Donnie called Monday Collect call and was I willing to pay He asked if I ever dropped around her place I'm glad I didn't have to answer to his face It was a hot one, he was a cold one A time I remember like it's yesterday

I'm leaving this town, I'm not hanging around I've got places to be, and people to see I'm not trying to drag you down I'm claiming myself from the lost and found Somewhere out there is the new me If I stay here I can't be free Chorus: I'm sick of the lovers, backstabbers and fighters Offbrand cigarettes and Chinese lighters And all I can say is ah-a I lost myself, I was someone else Lived in a herd, seems so absurd But I used to be like someone else Found a crowd and lost myself The loudest voice was the one I heard Lived and died by charlatans' words (chorus) I arrived in one piece, a sheep to be fleeced But so far I'm unshorn, maybe I'm reborn The miles between us make me free Anywhere your not is a place for me Now I'm whole where I was torn I'm taking names and you've been warned It kinda figured you did it for the money I tried so hard it wasn't even funny (chorus)

You're the ones, yeah it's you, you do that thing that you do That super special walk, now, those moves are you! Wait until tomorrow I'll have it for you then (Mami, Papi) Come back again on Wednesday and bring your little friend Sorry for your trouble, guess we heard you misspeak Wait until tomorrow, or just come back next week It's so hard to explain, if I do I feel drained Like I met Mary Jane, and got hit by a train (I guess there's no hope for the issue between, issue between) Every one of you guys who has a problem with my Feeling like I can I can fly—come on, you guys! Better it's tomorrow, that's when I see my guy (Mami, Papi) Check back with me on Thursday, but call before you come by Take a raincheck buddy, peace out my little freak Wait until tomorrow, or just come back next week

Beggars Dub 03:51

about

I started out as a drummer who sang and wrote songs. Many bands and records later, this is my first solo thang. I'm real proud of 'er!
You got you some rock steady/stoner rock, some 80s funk, some punky soul, some rock-rock, some dub and what have you. But I think it all sounds like ManChildATX. You feel me? That's right, I know you do.
Please enjoy and share freely. Thank you. OK, bye.
